The Life and Legacy of Satish Kumar
“Wars come from fear. Peace comes from Trust.” — Satish Kumar
The Film
Radical Love follows Satish Kumar — former Jain monk, peace pilgrim, and philosopher — through the landscapes that shaped a life dedicated to nonviolence, ecology, and the quiet revolution of love.
Shot across the English countryside and the dust roads of India, the film moves at walking pace: an invitation to listen, to slow down, and to consider what an ethical life might look like in a burning world.
It is a portrait, a pilgrimage, and a prayer — woven from conversation, memory, and the silence between footsteps.

This year, Satish Kumar turns 90.
For nine decades, he has walked a path of simplicity, compassion and deep connection with the Earth — inspiring generations through his life, his teachings, and the creation of Schumacher College.
To honour this moment, the documentary Radical Love is being made available for a limited time.

“Sometimes people call me an utopian, or a dreamer. But please tell me, what have the realists achieved? Our world is ruled by the realists. Our governments. Our business. And what have they achieved? We have global warming, pollution of oceans, rivers and soils. We have war. All managed by the realists. I think the future belongs to the idealists.”

Director's Note
The place where spirituality and action meet has been a continuous pursuit in my journey as a storyteller, and the contact with Satish Kumar somehow amplified this possibility. The profound impact that Satish has had on my own journey has ignited in me the possibility for becoming an activist of Love. I think that this film invites us to the kind of rescue we need to make today. To look at the simple instead of the elaborate, the ancestral instead of the progress, the peace instead of the violence. A journey of self-knowledge, transformation, and action. I see this project as a tribute to the capacity of the human heart.
